Data Cosplay Makeup Tutorial Part II ! How it was done on the set!

My apologies for my long disappearance, I have been sick off and on the past month and I am still sick sadly and it has really taken it out of me.

But it is time now for the post you all have been patiently waiting for, thank you so much!
I am doing my  best to type this up while also trying to get my cay to move away from my keyboard... so I apologize for any spelling errors I may make

This is the second part of the Data cosplay makeup tutorial, if you want to read part one you can find it here.

In this post I am going to talk about how Data's makeup was done on the set on Star Trek:TNG , this helped me a lot in many ways when I was trying to plan out how to do Chris's cosplay makeup for Data. Knowing exactly what they used on set helped me find a lot of cheaper dupes and it also made me realize with some of the products you just can't beat what they used on set. So it really helped me decide on what I needed to spend the extra money on and what I could find a cheaper alternative for.

From what I have looked up his foundation was either two specific shades blended together or it was a custom blend done most likely by Michael Westmore (but not necessarily). Who also published this book, available on amazon for practically nothing that talks about how he created a lot of the looks for the Start Trek series and how he did them and what makeup and tools he used. The book is called Aliens&Artifacts for those of you who are interested.

The foundations that were most likely used are:

This foundation was then set with the Lumiere Luxe powders in Aztec Gold and Iced Gold.I usually apply these with a large fan brush or powder brush.

There was also another color applied to the lips

  • Ben Nye Fireworks Creme Color in Bronze $9.45
another alternative, if you want more bang for your buck, you can buy the same Ben Nye Fireworks Creme Color in a Wheel instead of individuals pots for only $18.00

To seal everything there were two products used

Liqui Set can be applied with a brush over everything for a smudge proof finish, they can be mixed with the Luxe powders.
Final Seal is usually misted over everything after all makeup has been applied as an extra precaution.

If you decide to apply makeup to your hands, make sure to mix it with the final seal before applying it to keep it from rubbing off onto every surface in sight.

I also want to let you guys know the company I usually buy my BenNye makeup from Makeup Mania  always has some really great Black Friday deals on all of their makeup and they usually always have a special on all their Ben Nye makeup, so if you want to purchase some of this makeup but it's a bit on the pricey side, their black friday deals might be of interest to you.
I usually purchase something online from them during Black Friday and I highly recommend them and their awesome customer service team!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I'm sorry it is so short! please let me know if you have any questions!

For my next post I'm going to try and focus on my next upcoming cosplay project! hint hint it's a Hellboy character played by Doug Jones (one of the many anyways)

Until Next Time!
